Meet the Pastors

Senior Pastor William Buck and First Lady Prophetess Brenda Buck

Pastor William Glenwood Buck was born on January 14, 1954 in Prince Frederick, Maryland to the late William and Bessie (Moore) Buck.  He was raised in Lusby, Maryland with his siblings Elwood, Florence, Roosevelt, Sandra, and Jamie.  His family is very important to him and he tries to spend time with them often.  He loves each of them dearly and has fond memories of splitting family chores.  Chores included taking care of the livestock, maintaining the garden, cutting firewood and getting fresh water from the stream.  Pastor Buck attended Appeal Elementary School, W. Sampson Brooks High School and later graduated from Calvert High School in 1973.  It was at Calvert High School where he fell in love with his wife of over 30 years, Brenda (Jacks) Buck.  The two married in May of 1978. Together they have three children, Margo E. Buck-Hurley, Joan D. Buck-Cherry (Paul) and Jonathan W. Buck (Kristina) and four grandchildren.

In 1979, Pastor Buck asked Jesus Christ to be his Lord and Savior and began attending First Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.  It was there that he did what he loved, which is, ministering to the homeless, visiting nursing homes and the sick.  Later, he served at the Church of the Harvest.  His serving included volunteering at the bookstore and cleaning the church. One night at the Church Men’s Ministry meeting Pastor Buck was infilled with the Holy Spirit.  He later became a deacon at Church of the Harvest.

In 1989, Pastor Buck attended Clinton Bible College in Clinton, Maryland.  He graduated in 1991 and was ordained by Pastor Harry “Dutch” Williams as an Associate Pastor, along with Pastor Herman Buchanan.  Together the three pastors sought out to serve the Lord.  Pastor Dutch retired in February of 2009 ordaining Pastor Buck as Senior Pastor of the Church of the Harvest.  Pastor Buck leads the church in many areas of ministry in Maryland and Washington DC.  He serves as Clergy at Calvert Memorial Hospital, University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center and the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

Along with his first loves Jesus Christ and his family, Pastor Buck has a love for people.  He desires to do all he can to let his light so shine before men, that they may see his good works and glorify his Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:16).

His favorite scriptures are:

Romans 1:16-17 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith.

Romans 10:8-10 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Thank you Lord Jesus.
